London Serviced Apartments With Hotels Service

December 28th, 2008
While hotels present a civilized roof of any self-respecting traveler, for long trips to the cities like London few find themselves longing for more known surroundings when they are forced to stay overseas. Hotels can give off that unfriendly, stiff feeling, particularly for the regular long-haul travelers. For this reason, few companies hire and purchase short-term apartments in the city of London to lodge their important clients.

These London short-term apartments present self-sufficient luxury accommodation at a good price. Fully furnished with complete fitted kitchenware, television, phone and other mod cons that you will expect from city dwelling, professional interior designers usually design apartments, which are giving guest an example of stylish city living in the roomy, stylish short-term apartment without long-term investment.

A great example of roomy, trendy living is the Zinc House apartment, with stylish furnishings of highest quality joint with lavishness like a washing machine, dishwasher, and TV. One more apartment located in a square mile is 196 Bishops gate that also offers similar experience of the cosmopolitan lifestyle for affordable cost. Both are perfect for business or for casual traveler alike, giving simple access to central London as well as old financial district. Ideal for somebody wishing to give their partner a idealistic weekend, then Citadines apartments in Barbican present the ideal mixture of wealth and stylishness, and all in a miles of many cultural proceedings in the region, most particularly the continually changing list offered by Barbican Centre. Also attractive for romantic break is Aston’s apartments that offer a retreat in London’s most impressive and special districts, South Kensington. As many short-term apartments in this region go for some millions of pounds, you can here treat yourself to long break for a few hundred!

A broad range of Serviced Apartments comprises of amenities, which hotels can’t match, like a coffee or tea making machine, satellite television, Internet connection, Wi-Fi, refrigerator, hairdryer, all for your personal exercise during your stay to London. Majority of these additionals are included in basic price of your rental, though you might have to pay additional every day fee for few basic services such as car parking, laundry, dry cleaning etc. You can simply find out websites about what will be integrated in rental fee while searching for Apartment in London.

One more great advantage of a Apartment is the ease factor, mainly for families. There are many Serviced Apartments in close proximity to the major theme parks, shopping mall, museums, restaurants, transportation access that can save travel time - and thus boosts your time to spent enjoying your visit at London, instead of sitting in the traffic and traveling in and out of the way from hotel. When you are done with sightseeing with your family, you will get all space that you need to stay away from kids for peace and calm - they will have own bedroom and you will have your own! You will enjoy amenities and facilities, which Apartments are stocked with- and you do not need to talk to some other person for duration of your visit, unless you want!

One in a Million, That’s London for You

December 19th, 2008
One in a million, that’s London for you. This defence of London is not meant as some feeble attempt to try to curry favour in certain quarters.

Bad times and good, I have lived and worked in London through them all.

From its darkest hours in the 1970s and the 80s at the height of the IRA terrorist campaigns to the ecstasy of winning the 2012 Olympics and the Queens Jubilee. London has had the experience and gravity to treat both with equal respect.

The memory still haunts me of travelling through London returning to where I now live in Northern Ireland hours after the news broke of the tragic and untimely death of Princess Diana. The sense of grief and shock were overwhelming as total strangers just blindly made their way to Kensington Palace to lay flowers at the people’s memorial. Contrast this with the day in 2005 of the Live 8 festival at Hyde Park when the city resounded to rock music belting out across its entire centre.

There is History almost round very corner in London. History that it would appear that most Londoners take for granted.

If we use as an example, the changing of the guard. Betty and Phil insist that this happens daily at their place at the end of the mall. Perhaps I should be slightly more serious at this point because most onlookers will realize this point I am of course referring to Buckingham Palace and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh. Perhaps the most notable of the Changing of the Guards in recent years was held shortly after the awful events of 911 when instead of playing God Save the Queen the band of the Guards performed what turned out to be quite an emotional performance (certainly for those visiting American tourists in the audience) of the Star Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the United States of America.

Perhaps the significance of this passed most of the on looking tourist by but it was a first in living memory that any other national anthem other than the United Kingdoms own God Save the Queen had been performed at the Changing of the Guards ceremony.

It could be argued that it is incidents like this that go to sum up exactly what a rich variety of tradition and history exists in London. Unlike other major international capital cities, London may lack perhaps the historic grandeur of the Parthenon in Athens or the Coliseum in Rome but through out London you will find examples of perhaps a more modern architecture (though no less splendid and impressive) such as the mother of all parliaments, the Houses of Parliament in Westminster or the serenity of St Paul’s Cathedral a survivor of many centuries and in many ways every bit as impressive now as in the days of its design under the architect Sir Christopher Wren.

If nothing else the building of St Paul’s Cathedral is a testament to survival itself having both survived the Great Fire of London in the 16th Century and then four hundred years later the Blitz in World War II.

Possibly the existence of living history such as St. Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of such a modern and a bustling city of London really sums up the overall appeal of London where there is such an amazing and historic blend of old and new.

You have absolutely no chance of being disappointed you come to visit London.

London Apartments: Top 5 Reasons Why You Should Book A Serviced Apartment In London Through An Agent

December 14th, 2008
Dear reader, before you all accuse me of blatant propaganda for my own company, please let me use the 80:20 rule and declare that only 20% is propaganda and the other 80% is based on the truth. Read on and if something strikes you as nonsense, you can choose to stop reading or share your feedback with me.

The source of this article was borne out of frustration at one particular incident which happened a few months back. I received a call from a potential client seeking a serviced London apartment for short stay rental. When he discovered that Quality London Apartments was a third party agent and not the owner of the apartments, his comment was: “Oh no, not another agent!”

He then explained that he has just had a bad experience with one of my competitor. After listening to his story I totally sympathised with his plight. I helped him to book the right London apartment and eventually received many words of thanks for my help. But it niggled me that some agents are giving all agents a really bad reputation, so I have decided to fight back and remind travellers around the world why using agents are the best choice.

1.Good agents are like your friends in the city of your destination. Imagine having someone who will help you to research and book a serviced apartment. Then they will also help you with free support and advice of this city. If you choose an agent who actually live and work in this city, then it will be like having your own personal concierge.

2.Agents worth their salt will help you to find the right apartments to fit your budget. Obviously, you need to be realistic as well, as London is a notoriously expensive destination. Imagine if you had a family of 4 on a budget of £250 per night for a two bedroom apartment and you wanted to be in central London. Where do you begin? How much time do you wish to spend searching online, making expensive overseas phone calls/emails before you find something suitable? That is a lot of time and expense. An agent will have called at least 3 and give you the options within 15-30 minutes. How? That takes me to the next point.

3.Good agents are specialist who has visited the apartment to understand what their customers are going to stay in, have a relationship with the apartment owners, and know how flexible or inflexible the apartments will be with prices. They will squeeze as much as reasonable to fit your budget.

4.Agents are your advocates. Good agents are on your side, they want to help you and ensure that you have a smooth and happy stay. They are your representative in London, who fights for you; act as trouble shooters when something goes wrong with the apartments on arrival. What could go wrong? Read on.

5.Who you turn to when something goes wrong during your stay in an apartment? Here is a true life scenario to illustrate the point. One of my new clients booked a luxury apartment through Quality London Apartments for his break. When he arrived on New Years Day, the apartment owner tried to fob him off (whether mistakenly or on purpose) with another different apartment with a totally different décor…not to my client’s taste. If my client had booked directly with the apartment, he would have had to fight his case on his own. But he phoned me on New Years Day, I then complained (diplomatically of course) to the apartment owner and presto! All sorted for him. That is a difference that many people in this age of automated bookings do not realise, is the human help. Convenience and efficiency is great, but when things go wrong, as it invariably does, it is the people you trust who will make that call on your behalf.

Sadly, not all serviced apartments agents follow this code, nor do they respect their customers. Conversely, there are also many great agents who are passionate about service, actually enjoy taking care of their clients and are honest to you. It is hard to know which agents are excellent and which are shoddy, until you work with them.

Here comes the 20% propaganda that I did pre-warn you about earlier. My company’s mission is honesty, good old fashioned service and service with integrity. I am passionate about serviced apartments as the best way to travel and I really love helping clients. Period.

How can you know if this is true? I cannot prove it just by words, only by action. I dare you to choose Quality London Apartments next time and let us prove it to you.

Budget Hotels In London: For A Sunny Time In A Rain-drenched City

December 6th, 2008
You crawl out of bed at the crack of dawn. Hunger pains hound you. Your dinner last night had only consisted of cabbage soup with a special ingredient: a single potato. Your mouth waters as you dream of a breakfast fit for an English king: eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans and mushrooms, and fried bread. But you skip breakfast because your cupboards have been bare for months. You put on your drab and tattered clothes, toss on your hat, and then walk outside your rustic house, heading towards the docks.

The First World War and the U.S. stock market crash have sent Great Britain’s economy into a downward spiral. When you get to the docks, the foreman announces that he only needs 10 men to unload the few ships that docked overnight. His head turns from side to side, scanning the sea of tired, nearly hopeless faces in front of him. After quickly pointing and choosing the first nine men, he looks you in the eye for a few seconds. The foreman then raises his arm, ready to point out the last man of the one-day workforce. Is this scene too dismal? Though the Great Depression seems to be an event in ancient history, budget hotels in London remind us of frugality’s value.

Pennies for Rainy Days

Though few of us can truthfully claim to have lived through the Great Depression, we have experienced some of its aspects on a much smaller scale. We have been hungry. We have searched for a job. We have been unable to buy everything our hearts desired. Moreover, we have learned sayings that symbolize the hardships of extreme situations: “A penny saved is a penny earned,” “Save for a rainy day,” and “Waste not, want not.” But how often do we stop to think about those sayings? By checking into one of the budget hotels in London, we can use those pennies saved for other traveling expenses.

Cheap or Frugal?

Does saving make us cheap? Samuel Johnson, one of England’s greatest poets and essayists once wrote, “Frugality may be termed the daughter of Prudence, the sister of Temperance, and the parent of Liberty.” In our day-to-day talk, we use the word “cheap” more often than “frugal.” By “cheap,” we often mean that stingy people like Ebenezer Scrooge from “A Christmas Carol” should enjoy their money a little bit more, or give back to the community. Both “frugal” and “cheap” have very difficult connotations. A frugal person will buy an economy-sized tube of toothpaste from the supermarket to save money for his child’s college education. A cheap person will buy a low-quality toothpaste from a dollar store when he could afford to buy a chain of dollar stores! If you choose one of the premium budget hotels in London, you can spend less and still get the service you deserve.

The Best Budgets

Is it really possible to find affordable yet comfortable lodging during your stay in London, one of Europe’s most expensive cities to live in? Yes! Certain budget hotels in London can accomplish that mission without causing you to holler “Blimey!” after seeing your bill. Such hotels have a friendly staff, a convenient location, and the amenities you want-all at an affordable rate! Nobody can accuse you of being miserly when you stay at one of the best budget hotels in London.

Eras like the Great Depression remind us of the value of being frugal because we do not know when the next “rainy day” will be. However, checking into budget hotels in London with great service and low rates can make all of your days sunny, even in rainy London!

So, You Want to Hire a Close-up Magican (in London)

December 3rd, 2008
In day to day life not many people have seen a ‘real life’ magician, guessing worldwide there are 100,000 who practice this subject and far less who make a living from it which is quite a small number respectivly. Unless your a high flyer that attends banquets / hospitality suites or a regular at ‘corporate do’s’ chances are you have never experienced ‘good magician’ first hand.

As there are no guidelines for hiring a magician I thought I’d offer some professional advice. I love my craft and always ofen hear of horror stories and dissapointment from bookers at corporate events who have found someone off the web. Bad magic(ians) ultimately Impacts on our business as people tend to generalize and expect all magic to be the same.

Conjuring can really shine out when it’s performed to a high standard. There are many great performers who purvey there art you just need to know where to look and what to ask! A great magician can get your party talked about for years to come! Pound for pound magic / mind-reading acts are the best way to break-the-ice at your party, It’s fun, enthralling and above all entertaining (if performed well). Magic can involve the audience in a way no other entrainment comes close! It can be emloyed for audiences from 1 to 1000. It is perfect for any age group or social type from an 18th birthday to a golden wedding; From Shoredich in the East End (E5) of London to West End, (W1) Red Carpet and many places in-between.

Type in ‘Magician London’ you’ll be surprised how many names pop up, how do you pick the right man / woman for the job? Do you book on price, face value, page rank, ad words, recommendation or just take a pot luck guess!

Top 10 bits of advice to consider when hiring a magician for a party.

1. What Type of party are you holding?

So, you want to hire a magian for your corporate event or private bash.

First question you have to ask is why exactly do I want to hire a magician? Ask yourself when will they perform, what will they bring to the party? Are you are holding a quiet intimate event for your closest friends and relatives or is it a huge lavish event, all signing and dancing? Where do you see the magician taking his place. Is it a Mix and mingle type party or a sit down dinner? Will they be on stage, pre-dinner, during the cocktail hour, during coffee? Will they be the main featured entertainer or just part of the background entertainment?

2 . How many guests are attending?

For numbers up to 80 / 100 normally 1 magician would be enough to circulate amongst guests for 2 hours or so, Sometimes if the number is under 30 an inexperienced performer will struggle with depth of ‘quality material’ if booked for a duration of more than an hour. Don’t forget anyone can call themselves a magician if they know 3 or more tricks and have a website. Make sure to ask how big there repertoire is! Also find out if they have worked in that type of situation before!

3. Not much is worse than watching a bad magician!

If you witness a ‘bad magician’ you feel sorry for them; then embarrassed for everyone watching! (Picture the initial rounds of X factor!) As a Craft / Art there is no room for error, you either have great magic effects that astound or not! Your booking a magician or mindreader to entertain and astound you guests with things they will possibly never experience again! Unless on TV!

You don’t want to hear this conversation!!!

Laughing audience member “Hey mister I can see that card hidden in your hand, call yourself a magician, don’t give up the day job will you”!

Magician “I don’t care as I’ve already been paid, well… I normally get away with it, but dot tell the booker”!

Think to yourself how you want to judge the performer at the event. Do you want riotous applause or prefer stunned silence. The former is great for a fun 18th Birthday but maybe not so suitable for a room full of CEO’s.

4. Have you received a personal recommendation?

If you’ve had a personal recommendation from a friend Is always a fantastic start all you just need then is to perhaps see a demo of what they do either live or on a showreel. Ask if they perform as a resident magician anywhere. Every magician will tell you they are the best thing since sliced bread, magicians can be a funny lot, they comprise of numerous types… egotists, wannabe playboys and others which the article cares to mention. Thankfully most of the others out there really care about there audience and put maximum time and effort ito there show.

5. Testimonials and Kudos that can be substantiated?

Most websites are filled with quotes from past events, some from ‘Joe public’ some from the ‘rich and famous’. How can you find out if they are real? Well you could ask for copies of letters of endorsement, or they could perhaps forward you an email. Maybe they could give you the backstory when or how they met ‘X’ famous person an then recount what happened, they can back it up with a photo. (Some magicians have photos on there site and have never performed for the star) Cheeky monkeys!

Basically you will know if they feel genuine after an initial chat.

Your magician may be a member of the Magic Circle this is not a guarantee and will not tell you how suitable they are for you. Members comprise of, amateur, semi professional and professional. (Even at different ranks which are in the organisation / club)

Note : Some of the best magicians in the world are of an amateur nature, but lack real life performance hours, which are Invaluable.

6. Has the magician got a showreel, what type of website do they have.

Does the magician have a good professional website? Has it got current content perhaps a blog of all there latest shows? What about video content and / or Youtube links? Is there anything written outlining there past history? (articles / press cuttings) These will give an indication to the depth knowlege and to show how long they been performing in the entertainment business.

What ‘Image’ does there site and publicity give out? Good / Bad or Indifferent. Would they fit with your own Ideals or that of your corporation? Does the site offer simple advise for booking a magician as outlined in this document?

7. How confident are you in a relative stranger mix with your guests?

Foremost a magician should build an instant rapport with the audience. It is even more important than the tricks themselves as if the audience doesn’t like the ‘them’ then how are they going to enjoy the show? If you are a corporate booker reading it reflects on you! If it’s a corporate affair its essential to have at least spoken to you ‘Magic Man’ on the phone! Ideally they have great references of from other blue chips and can back up with articles written in the press. If you find someone you like Its worthwhile building a relationship with them and use them for all of your events.

Former head bartender Mr Peter Dorelli (Whom worked at the Savoy Hotel London for 40 years) answered the question “What makes a great bartender”! his answer was quite simple “Would I invite this person into my living room for a cup of tea and a biscuit….” A bartender like a magician is an entertainer just a different medium! “Its all about having a good character that you find confortable to be around”!

8. Vibe!

So, You’ve spoken to ‘Mr Magic’ on the phone, looked at there website, been given a recommendation. BUT remember this is your event, only you know who you are inviting and have your expectations. Is ‘Mr Magic’ up to it? Perhaps you feel that they’ve over sold themselves? Or conversly really don’t seem that interested. Hopefully they’ll they blend in and enhance the event and be a HUGE hit!

Think what type of manner do they have?

Serious, comedy, cheesy, slick, avant-garde, old school, contemporary, mysterious, quick witted, middle of the road, fresh, funky, gritty, or silky-smooth?

Once again when speaking to ‘Mr Magic’ relate all relevant information themes and details about your event to get the most out of them at the party!

9. How much does a close-up magician cost direct?

Here is a rough guide on Price dated London, UK area 2008.

£0-100 - You might ask a friend that is a magician as a mate rate at a house party.

(Token Gesture)

£100 - £350 - You would get a semi professional magician / amateur that is glad of the cash (and work) as an aside from his regular income. Don’t expect to much from this type of performer. But you could even strike lucky.

£450 - £550 - You could expect to get a fairly good magician for this type of money midweek in London and UK

£650 - £850 - You’ll get a top professional for this type of money but ask for guaranteed references. Maybe even go and see them if they have a show on or work at a residency. Get there vibe as each performer is different! Price for 1.5 / 2.5 hours Mix and mingle.

£850 - £1500 For this you should get a first rate act that could perform a set show for small amount of people for 45 min to an Hour or even for a mix and mingle price for 2 / 3 hours

£POA some performers do charge more if the show is of a High Caliber for celebrity clients due to the pressure and standing of the event. Make sure you are confident perhaps meet with them or they have representation by a proper agent.

10 - Sites to look at :-

Agencies will naturally add a percentage on top of the fee but have normally vetted all the acts to ensure the best quality.

On last tip when calling put them on the spot with this sneaky question “Who they would hire if it was there party”! Then go quiet and wait for an answer!

London Introduction

Home to 7.2 million people speaking 300 languages, London is the largest city in Europe. So much diversity could hardly fail to produce a vibrant, cosmopolitan city, but in London this exciting present is coupled with a Royal, Imperial past, reflected in the city’s grand civic architecture.

With a thriving restaurant scene championing everything from the gourmet to the “gastropub” and world-class cultural institutions like the British Museum, National Gallery, Tate Modern, Royal Opera House and the Barbican Centre, the capital is in excellent shape.

The South Bank revival continues with the Millennium Bridge connecting St Paul’s Cathedral with Tate Modern, and a multi-million pound makeover for the Royal Festival Hall. Londoners love their newest landmark - Norman Foster’s “Gherkin”, or the Swiss Re Tower as it is formally known - found in the heart of the financial district, The City.

Great Places to Visit - London

November 29th, 2008
London is a great place. London as a major capital city deserves respect.

London like all major cities has had its good times as well as it’s bad times and I have been there for most of them.

From the ecstatic heights in 2005 of being told that it was to be the home of the 2012 Olympics to the awful depths of having the news broken of the Harrods and Hyde Park bombings London has had the experience and gravity to treat both with equal respect.

I remember travelling through London to return home to Northern Ireland where I now live on the day the news broke that Princess Diana had tragically been killed in a car accident in Paris. The almost hypnotic manner with which mourners just blindly made their way to Kensington Palace to lay flowers was quite eerie. Then at the other end of the spectrum you have London the day of the “Live 8” Festival in Hyde Park where the city centre was brought to a standstill with blaring rock music belting out across the entire City Centre.

There is so much history in London. Real live, vibrant living history in London that sometimes when you live there just passes you by and you take everything for granted.

If we use as an example, the changing of the guard. A daily occurrence at Betty and Phil’s place at the end of the mall.

It was important to note the significance of this event in that it was the only time that any other national anthem had been played at the changing of the guards instead off God Save the Queen.

The construction and existence of St Paul’s Cathedral is a wonderful example if anyone needed of how history, living history can survive great national and international catastrophes such as the great fire of London and then 400 years later the blitz of World War II.

Possibly the existence of living history such as St. Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of such a modern and a bustling city of London really sums up the overall appeal of London where there is such an amazing and historic blend of old and new.

There is absolutely no way a visit to London will disappoint

Vacation Rentals In London: From Cozy Farm Cottages To A Hundred-Year-Old Castles

November 24th, 2008
Vacation Rentals: A Budget-friendly Solution

Vacation rentals, London tourists should know, are one of the easiest ways to stay in the city without breaking the bank. If you cringe at the hotel prices of cities such as Seoul or Moscow, for example, then you would be alarmed at how much everything costs in London.

This is how vacation rentals London-style works: a landlord leases to you an apartment, fully furnished and ready for occupation. Use of apartments like these are more long-term than hotel stays, so vacation rentals, London-style, may be availed of for three days or longer. In exchange, you pay a sum that covers not your daily stay, but the entire duration of your visit.

Vacation Rentals: Options

A gaggle of lodging options are available for tourists who are considering the vacation rentals London has to offer. There are one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments. However, if you want to experience first-hand the colorful traditions and history of London, then why not explore other options?

The vacation rentals London proffers are not limited to modern apartments. Other excellent options include properties that belong to the National Trust and Landmark Trust. These two are organizations that safeguard historic buildings and estates sprawled throughout Britain. They rent these out to vacationers. So, if you are adventurous enough to prefer the historic to the convenient, then you should leap at this opportunity to relieve a piece of history. You could stay in a cozy farm cottage or inside a 500-year-old castle.

Vacation Rentals: At the Heart of the Bustle

The good thing about the vacation rentals London districts provide is that these are very close to the most visited tourist attractions, most of which are in Central London. These include Westminster Abbey and a dozen of theaters, museums, and old structures. These lodgings are found close to the shopping districts, too. Price is definitely one of the less savory things about London, but many tourists go shopping, nonetheless, because the products sold in London are of the highest quality. The West End of London, particularly Trafalgar Square, is a world-renowned shopping area.

In planning your London vacation, remember to make not just flight and lodging arrangements, but also transportation provisions as well. Many websites, such as http:www.Holiday4You.com offer free information about London’s vacation rentals and public transport, be this road, rail, air, or water. Oh, and while in London, you must never forget to take a cab. London cabbies are as much a distinctive part of the city as its

Article Submission Tricks That Actually Work

November 24th, 2008
When you submit your articles, there are several tricks that you can follow to make sure that your articles end up where you want them to be, and in the right frame of reference. Remember, writing articles is something that a lot of people can do, but submitting articles is something that might take a little bit more time and patience. You want to be sure that you are submitting articles in the right kind of way, and that they have a real chance of getting published, sold, or getting you noticed.

That said, there are several tricks that you can follow when you want to submit your articles. First of all, you want to make sure that you have followed through on the article directions exactly. If this is an article that you have written for a specific purpose, or using the guidelines of a specific site, you want to make sure that you are following these guidelines exactly, and that you haven’t left anything out. This is the best way to make sure that you are able to get the most out of your article submission. Sometimes, your article will not be submitted if it does not follow the directions exactly.

Next, if your article either follows all of the guidelines, or if your article is one that was written without guidelines, there are some things that you can do to make sure that the submissions is successful. The first of course, is to carefully proof read your article and make sure that there aren’t any errors. Errors are going to be your biggest problems when it comes to articles, so you want to be sure that your articles are error free and that you are able to submit them easily and without too much trouble. The best way to make sure that this happens is to take a good look at your articles and be sure that they follow all of the guidelines.

The next thing that you want to do is to make sure that your article and everything in it is labeled correctly. This is one of the hardest things to do, because labeling articles is a tough action. There might be some different categories that you can put the articles in, and there also might be other headlines that you can use for your articles. This means that you have to be sure that you are putting your article into the right place. Your article should be labeled correctly and it should also be using the right kind of subheadings and other things to make it do the most that it can for you.

There are some other things to consider in order to get your article submitted successfully. Remember that your article should be informative. It should also be to the point and exciting, so that you can make the most out of the information that you have. Your article should also be useful, because no one is going to want to read an article that is not useful.
